A three day Technical Seminar & workshop on VLSI & FPGA Designing organized by NXG Semiconductors from 8th April, 2011 to 10th April, 2011
Guest Lecture by Dr. Manoj Singh, Dept of Nanotechnology, IISc on Emerging trends in Nature Inspired Research was conducted on 19th March, 2011.
The department has excellent infrastructure with state of the art equipments and software. The department has at its disposal well equipped labs like Communication Lab, Microcontroller Lab, VLSI Lab, DSP Lab, HDL Lab, Advanced Embedded Systems Lab and R & D Lab etc.
To enhance precise measurement and observe waveform with better clarity APLAB Digital Storage Oscilloscopes are used. Three MMIC test benches and three microwave test benches are used to conduct experiments in GHz frequency range. Various digital coding and modulation kits are used apart from discrete components to demonstrate the basic concepts involved in digital communication and NI MULTISIM is used to simulate these circuits and verify the results. An OFT kit is used to demonstrate communication and multiplexing through Light waves.
Some of the ASIC Digital Designs performed are Adders, Multipliers etc. The Code is written in VHDL or Verilog, Simulated, synthesized and verified using Test bench.
Some of the Analog Designs performed are Op-Amp, R-2R DAC etc. All these designs are verified by DC, AC, Transient Analysis and LVS, DRC, ERC are verified. Finally RC extraction and back annotation completes the design verification.
The department is securing very good results in both B.E and M.Tech courses in the university examinations every year. The placement records of the department are also very good. All eligible students are placed in reputed companies every year.
Faculty members have published several papers and presented in international journals, international workshops/conferences/symposiums and national seminar/conference/symposium.
